Creative, Design & Production Management
The ANCLIFFE line (2013 - 2021) is a project that I considered my side-hustle and creative outlet for many years. It was comprised of elevated classic designs for a modern woman. I am most satisfied when someone puts on one of my garments and walks a little taller, feels a bit stronger and is more themselves.
This clothing line takes sustainability seriously by hand dying and natural dying techniques, using overstock fabric and trims from previous clothing lines, and by not over producing, I made everything in limited edition for this reason. I disassembled pants from a previous clothing line, altered the fabric and then made new garments out of that fabric. My labels were all hand made and my hangtags were from off-cut paper from my sister, who is a local printmaker. I try not to waste anything.
In 2020, during the Covid lockdown, I gave the majority of this work away to supporters of the brand. It was a bit of joy: reconnection with dear friends and loyal customers in a time of isolation and fear. I hope these items are still giving people joy as giving them away has given me joy.
Thank you to all who supported this brand.
