Pop Up Events and Shops

Over the many years of my different independent clothing lines, I held several retail pop-ups and events in Portland, OR.

My most recent shop, Ancliffe & Revere, was a Mar-June 2018 retail takeover. Liza Reitz, a friend and designer, needed maternity leave. I partnered with my friend Lauren Main, a local jewelry designer and owner of Revere, to run Liza’s shop. Images in the shop show my Ancliffe Collection, Liza’s clothing, some of my shibori dye work, Lauren’s jewelry and metal mobiles.

In 2009, the City of Portland helped local designers and shops open temporarily in the downtown corridor. I was a lucky participant in one of the shops. I ran WORKROOM 719 for 2 ½ months (Nov- Jan). I reached out to other local artists and jewelers to help fill out the shop. I filled it with the Charles & Victora clothing line that I designed.

CONTENT 2014

From 2009-2015, the Ace Hotel in Portland, OR held a one-day installation event called Content . For one day, artists and designers transformed the small rooms into an immersive space to showcase their work.

For Content 2014 I had room 224 and transformed it with over 200 shibori dyed panels to showcase the work and launch the new season of my clothing line.

All panels and clothing were hand-dyed in my backyard for this event. The largest panels were 7 yards long, the smallest were placemat sized.

This project was more about making things with my hands and exploring the processes of natural dye.

RYU Sp'13 Concept

RYU Sp'13 Concept:

I was asked to do trend research and design for a Sp’13 line. Additionally, a full-store concept was requested. I envisioned a 3 area concept for store layout: Men’s to the left, Women’s to the right, and the Center of the store to encompass a unisex Core selection.

RYU, Respect Your Universe, started as an MMA brand that was very male. The intention of the brief and this work was to soften and broaden the brand to get more consumer reach.
